Private Lessons
My tailored lesson instruction, practice strategies, and handmade reeds ensure my students are prepared to flourish in band classes, auditions, or their personal musical journeys. I aim to teach fundamental techniques to make playing the oboe an efficient, sustainable practice, while empowering students to find their personal expressive voices in music that speaks to them.
My studio currently consists of students in 5th-12th grade, but I am accepting students of any age and experience level! I am based in Marietta/Cobb County, but have availability in Fayetteville and Carroll County. Pedagogy has been a lifelong passion for me, and I am always interested in meeting prospective students- please reach out if you are interested in scheduling a lesson!
Sectional Coaching
I have been teaching sectionals to middle and high school students across Georgia for 3 years. Are looking for an instructor to hone the fine details of LGPE music, helping your oboe section learn to balance and blend, or boosting beginner students’ knowledge of oboe fundamentals? I pride myself on being able to quickly identify musical weaknesses and provide actionable and repeatable practice strategies and lessons that your students can carry into the classroom.
Recently, I have led sectionals during band classes and symphonic camps at Hillgrove High School, Villa Rica High School, Seckinger High School, Whitewater Middle School, and High Meadows School. If you are interested in investing in the long-term growth of your oboe section, please reach out to schedule a sectional below!
Masterclasses
My focus on fundamental practice and learning techniques and extensive study of musical interpretation has given me the ability to quickly recognize musical deficiencies and devise strategies to remedy and improve performances, as well as cultivate a repertoire of exercises that sharpen the playing of oboists of all ages. I have taught masterclasses to 6th grade classes beginning oboe for the first time, high school students looking to improve their playing, and at All-State prep clinics. My most recent masterclasses have taken place at Whitewater Middle School, East Cobb Middle School, Villa Rica High School, and the Columbus State University All-State Prep Clinic. Please reach out if you are interested in booking me for masterclass instruction!
